They placed second baseman Abraham Toro on the 15-day injured list with a sprained left shoulder and designated outfielder Steven Souza Jr.
CLEVELAND (AP) — The Cleveland Guardians acquired right-hander Yohan Ramirez on Monday from the Seattle Mariners on Monday for cash or a player to be named.
The 27-year-old Ramirez, who made seven appearances for the Mariners this season, was immediately optioned to Triple-A Columbus.
NEW YORK (AP) — Seattle Mariners reliever Erik Swanson was placed on the 15-day injured list Saturday with right elbow inflammation, leaving the team without one of its top arms in the bullpen.
Swanson has a 1.29 ERA over 13 appearances, with 21 strikeouts and only one walk in 14 innings — by far the most success he's enjoyed in four major league seasons, all with Seattle.
