KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Penny Taylor used her induction into the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame on Saturday to call for the release of her former Phoenix Mercury teammate Brittney Griner, noting it's been 114 days since the seven-time WNBA All-Star was detained in Russia.
Becky Hammon, Penny Taylor and Doug Bruno will headline the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame's Class of 2022.
The trio is joined by Alice “Cookie” Barron, Delisha Milton-Jones, Paul Sanderford, Bob Schneider and Debbie Antonelli in a group that will be inducted on June 11.
PHOENIX (AP) — Diana Taurasi made it back home in time to see her wife Penny Taylor give birth to a baby girl — the couple's second child.
Taurasi flew back to Phoenix from Las Vegas immediately after helping the Mercury beat the Aces in Game 5 of their semifinal series.
