ASHBURN, Va. (AP) — Washington put Montez Sweat on the NFL’s COVID-19 reserve list Wednesday after the third-year pass rusher tested positive for the coronavirus.
He was expected to return to practice this week and play against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday after missing the past four games with a broken jaw.
When the NFL schedule came out in May, Ron Rivera loved that Washington finished the season with five games against NFC East competition.
He told players it was an opportunity if they could still be in the playoff race by this stretch.
