NEW YORK (AP) — The New York Knicks removed Kemba Walker and added no players in the first round of the NBA draft on Thursday.

A person with knowledge of the situation said the Detroit Pistons have agreed to trade Olympic gold medalist Jerami Grant to the Portland Trail Blazers, with the biggest part of the return being a first-round pick in 2025.
Today in History
Today is Wednesday, June 22, the 173rd day of 2022. There are 192 days left in the year.
LAS VEGAS (AP) — NBA Summer League will start with a little Midnight Madness feel, at least in some of the country.
And if the Orlando Magic keep the No. 1 draft pick, then that player won't wait long for his summer debut.

Time for the NBA draft lottery, where some team will get a nice reward for a miserable season.
Not the Los Angeles Lakers, though. Their misery is set to make a good year even better for the New Orleans Pelicans.
Bob Lanier, the left-handed big man who muscled up beside the likes of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as one of the NBA’s top players of the 1970s, has died. He was 73.
The NBA said Lanier died Tuesday after a short illness.
New Orleans is defying all the odds.
The Pelicans are the first team in 46 years to finish a season 10 or more games under .500, then go on to win at least two playoff games — and that doesn't even count the two play-in game victories just to officially reach the postseason.
