FRISCO, Texas (AP) — The Dallas Cowboys waived tight end Blake Jarwin and released kicker Greg Zuerlein on Friday, moves that bring modest savings under the salary cap.
The Cowboys will save almost $4 million on the cap by dumping Jarwin and another $2.5 million by moving on from Zuerlein.
The Dallas Cowboys placed the franchise tag on tight end Dalton Schultz on Tuesday, buying time to agree on a long-term deal for one of Dak Prescott's most reliable targets.
The one-year contract will be worth about $11 million.
FRISCO, Texas (AP) — DeMarcus Lawrence likely won't play until November with a broken foot, fellow starting defensive end Randy Gregory probably will be sidelined this week by COVID-19 and right tackle La'el Collins' five-game suspension is just beginning.
When the Cowboys have the ball: Dak Prescott has earned a reputation for coming through in big moments, even if he has been uneven at times as a thrower. It will be interesting to see how he handles things here, even against a Rams defense that doesn’t clamp down in coverage.
