Flags lowered in honor of ex-WVa Treasurer Larrie Bailey

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) — West Virginia Gov. Justice has ordered all state and U.S. flags to be lowered in honor of former state Treasurer John “Larrie” Bailey.

Bailey died Friday at age 87.

Justice said in a news release that all flags will be displayed at half-staff Wednesday in Bailey’s honor.

Bailey was elected as treasurer from 1976 to 1984 and again from 1990 to 1996. He also was elected to the state House of Delegates in 1960.

Services for Bailey are scheduled for Wednesday at Ross Funeral Home in Fairmont.
