County sheriff, DHS make three arrests

The Cameron County Sheriff’s Office assisted the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in the arrest of three individuals in the Brownsville Country Club area.

Cameron County Sheriff Omar Lucio said Priscilla Coronado Esquivel, 27, Jaime Genaro Melendez, 27, and Arvin Ramirez Rodriguez, 33, were arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute marijuana. Charges were filed through federal court, the sheriff said.

Lucio said officials are still investigating.
