NJ rower, 16, hopes to compete again after stroke

Sixteen-year-old Connor Kelley went from winning a race at the Atlantic County High School Rowing Championships to a hospital bed — and all on Mother’s Day.
Kelley had just finished rowing for the Mainland Regional High School junior varsity eight, where the team placed first in the 1,500-meter race, when he collapsed on the ground, unable to speak or move his right arm, the Press of Atlantic City reported.
