Army training to close Fort Polk-Vernon WMA to hunters
BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — Army training will shut down hunting next weekend at a state wildlife management area, the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries said.
The Fort Polk-Vernon Wildlife Management Area will be closed Oct. 30-31, according to a news release.
The 165-square-mile (430 square kilometer) area is on the base in central Vernon Parish near Leesville.
