LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — Nebraska has hired Adam Howard of South Alabama as an assistant.

Howard spent the past four years with the Jaguars under Richie Riley. Howard previously was an assistant at Troy, Tennessee, Southern Mississippi and Morehead State.

“He’s a very well-rounded coach and fits what we were looking for and needed in this position,” coach Fred Hoiberg said Monday. “He’s great on the floor, does an excellent job in player development and has a lot of connections to get us involved with high level recruits.”

Howard replaces Matt Abdelmassih, who left Nebraska on March 17 by mutual agreement.
