Wyoming Cowboys Open Mountain West Championship Against Air Force on Wednesday

LARAMIE, Wyo. — The Wyoming Cowboys men’s basketball team begins their quest for an NCAA Tournament berth and conference title this week at the Mountain West Championship.

Wyoming, the No. 7 seed, opens on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. against No. 10 Air Force. Wyoming finished the regular season with an 18-13 overall record and an 8-10 mark in conference play. Air Force is 11-20 overall and finished 4-14 in MW play.

The Cowboys are 77-36 all-time against the Falcons, including 5-1 in neutral-site games. The teams last met in the MW Championship in 2010 with the Falcons defeating UW 59-40 in the first round. Wyoming is 3-1 all-time against AFA in the MW Championship.

Should the Cowboys advance, they would face No. 2 Colorado State in the quarterfinals on Thursday at 7 p.m.
