Ruby T. Krogan

WAUKESHA -- Ruby T. Krogan, 96, of Waukesha, formerly of Watertown, left for heaven on Friday morning, March 16, 2018, from the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Jan and Bruce Beyerlein of Waukesha.

Ruby Theresa Jenson was born on Dec. 10, 1921, in Deerfield, the daughter of Ludwig and Sadie (nee Severson) Jensen. Three of her grandparents were born in Norway and the parents of the fourth grandparent were born in Norway. She was confirmed at Deerfield Liberty Lutheran Church in 1936. She attended Deerfield Liberty Lutheran Grade School and graduated from Deerfield High School in 1939. After graduation, she attended machine shop school during World War II and was employed at West Bend Aluminum Company of West Bend and Allis-Chalmers in Milwaukee. She retired from Eaton Corporation in Watertown in 1985 after being employed there for 22 years.

On Aug. 30, 1944, Ruby married Severt “Steve” Krogan of Watertown at Trinity Lutheran Church in Watertown after he returned from two years in the South Pacific with the U.S. Army and a year before his discharge. He preceded her in death on April 25, 1996. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Watertown and then became a member at Mount Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church in Waukesha. She enjoyed bird watching as well as arts and crafts.


Ruby is survived by a daughter, Jan (Bruce) Beyerlein; sister-in-law, Pat Quam; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was further preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Francis, Clayton, Sidney and Donald Jenson; as well as sisters, Clarice Duckert and Vivian “Jean” Lea.
