Police: US Marshals involved in shooting in Louisville
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — A person was shot in Louisville Friday during a U.S. Marshals operation, police said.
Louisville police said in a brief prepared statement there was an “officer-involved shooting” and Louisville officers were assisting at the scene. They directed further questions to the U.S. Marshals Service.
A U.S. Marshals spokesman told WDRB-TV that federal agents were involved in a shooting in the morning. Officials gave no information on the shooting victim.
At the scene on Sutcliffe Avenue in western Louisville Friday afternoon, Louisville officers were standing in and around a white house blocked off by yellow tape. A group of about 20 neighbors were gathered in the street.
The Louisville police Public Integrity Unit is investigating the shooting, according to an LMPD spokeswoman.
Officials were not providing further details on Friday.
