Trevor Noah brings his comedy to Foxwoods Resort Casino

Trevor Noah, the polite yet bold/cheeky host of Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show,” is bringing his stand-up act to Foxwoods Resort Casino on Saturday, Sept. 16.

Noah, who will perform at the venue’s Grand Theater, debuted his ninth new comedy special, “Afraid of the Dark,” earlier this year on Netflix; it was shot before a packed house in New York City’s Beacon Theatre.

Born in South Africa, the talented entertainer has sold out performances on more than five continents. He has also hosted numerous television shows, including South Africa’s music, television and film awards, and two seasons of his own late night talk show, “Tonight with Trevor Noah.”

As host of the Emmy-winning “Daily Show,” Noah recently joined other late-night pundits who spoke against President Donald Trump’s decision to rescind DACA, the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program. He sarcastically offered Trump a compliment for having Attorney General Jeff Sessions make the announcement.

“Very smart, President Trump. How do you soften the blow when telling the kids the bad news? You get one of Santa’s elves to do it,” Noah said. “Nicely played. Nicely played. Plus, he can sneak in through the chimney to deport them. I see what you did there.”

Noah is the subject of the award-winning documentary, “You Laugh But It’s True,” which tells the story of his remarkable career in post-apartheid South Africa. He was nominated for “Personality of the Year” at the 2014 and 2015 MTV Africa Music Awards, and won in 2015.
