Tickets go on sale Monday for fifth annual Firkin’ Fest

ASHLAND - Ashland’s only craft beer festival celebrates five years of serving the best of craft beer on the streets of downtown Ashland this summer.

Ashland in Motion’s fifth annual Firkin Fest is set for 1 to 6 p. m. Saturday, June 15 in downtown Ashland. The craft beer festival features more than 100 craft beers, live music, local food, and regional retailers.

Ticket sales begin at 9 a.m. Monday, May 13. Tickets may be purchased online at BeerFests.com (https://tickets.beerfests.com/event/firkin-fest/pre-sale) or at the following local retailers: Ashland Beverage Centre; Carter Avenue Beverage; Good Spirits; and Shamrock Liquors.

General admission presale tickets are $25; day of event cost is $30. VIP admission presale tickets are $50; day of event cost is $55. VIP tickets may be purchased online only.

VIP ticket includes 10 craft beer tasting tickets and official Firkin Fest mini mug; early bird admission beginning at 1 p.m.; VIP limited edition t-shirt; access to exclusive VIP tent and amenities; VIP only parking; and access to rare and limited-edition craft beers and firkins.

The Fest features firkins and kegs brewed exclusively for the event by several regional breweries as well as an offering of limited VIP craft beers. The full beer list will be released later in May.

Firkin Fest tasting tickets are equivalent to three ounces of craft beer. Guests may purchase an additional three craft beer tasting tickets for $10 the day of the event. Only 1,000 general admission tickets and 500 VIP tickets are available.

Admission to Firkin Fest is free to designated drivers and guests who wish not to sample craft beer. Guests interested in craft beer tasting must be 21 or older and must purchase an event ticket.

Live music will be performed by Creek Don’t Rise, Chocolate 4-Wheeler, The Handshake Deals, Driftwood Gypsy and Charlie Brown Superstar.

For the third consecutive year, Firkin Fest coordinators will randomly select a local nonprofit to receive a $1,000 donation directly given from festival proceeds. Firkin Fest volunteers may nominate one local, charitable organization of their choice. The nonprofit recipient will be drawn and announced at the close of the festival on June 15.

Volunteers are asked to pledge three hours of volunteerism time on Saturday, June 15. Volunteer timeframes are 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.; or 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Duties may include event setup, teardown and pouring beer. Volunteers will receive a “volunbeer” T-shirt created uniquely for Firkin Fest volunteers. A discounted ticket price of $10 is also available to Firkin Fest volunteers only.
