FEMA recovery centers in Kentucky to close due to weather
FRANKFORT,Ky. (AP) — The Federal Emergency Management Agency’s recovery centers and mobile registration centers in Kentucky will be closed Thursday, Jan. 6 due to incoming severe weather, the agency said Wednesday. The centers, which were set up to assist Kentuckians impacted by devastating tornados last month, “will be reopened when it is safe to do so.”
Residents can apply for aid from FEMA and access other resources online at http://governor.ky.gov/tornadoresources.
The Dec. 10 storms tore a 200-mile path through Kentucky, killing 76 people.
