Troopers: Woman, child die in head-on crash near Williston
WILLISTON, N.D. (AP) — A man faces driving under the influence and vehicular manslaughter charges in a head-on collision near Williston that killed a woman and a child.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol said the 52-year-old Williston man was driving the wrong way in the westbound lanes of U.S. Highway 2 when his pickup collided with the woman’s vehicle at about 8 p.m. Saturday.
The 44-year-old woman and a juvenile female passenger, both from Williston, died at the scene. A 27-year-old man from Jonesboro, Georgia, was a passenger in the vehicle and suffered serious injuries, troopers said.
The patrol said the driver of the pickup suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a Williston hospital.
A third vehicle, a westbound pickup, was struck by debris from the crash but the driver was not injured, troopers said.
