Reeseville pig barn fire extinguished

REESEVILLE — A pig barn caught fire Wednesday afternoon at a farm outside Reeseville, but no animals were lost as firefighters swiftly had the situation under control.

The Reeseville Fire Department was dispatched at 12:28 p.m. to N2600 North Kohn Road. Upon arrival, firefighters found moderate smoke coming out of the barn’s roof vents.

Crews contained the fire to the interior feed room and ceiling and were on the scene for approximately 2 hours. None of the pigs died as a result of the fire and no firefighters were injured during the call.

Assisting agencies included Clyman, Lowell, Hustisford, Watertown, Waterloo, Beaver Dam, Marshall, Columbus, WE Energies and the Dodge County Sheriff’s Department.
