Dwight Yoakam Coming To Kirby Center
The F.M. Kirby Center for the Performing Arts added two new shows to its season’s roster. Singer-songwriter Dwight Yoakam appears at the Wilkes-Barre venue on Friday, Oct. 5, while Swedish heavy metal band Ghost appears at the theater on Wednesday, Dec. 5, as a part of its “A Pale Tour Named Death.” Yoakam sold more than 25 million albums worldwide, and is a 21-time nominated, multiple Grammy Award-winner. Tickets, which start at $39.50, go on sale Friday, June 15, at 10 a.m., or Tuesday, June 12, at 10 a.m. for a Kirby Member presale. Ghost formed in 2006 as an anonymous, theatrical rock band curated entirely by Tobias Forge. Each album is like a film release, of which Forge takes charge of everything from directing and wardrobing to creating the cinematography and soundtrack. Tickets start at $37.75, and go on sale Friday, June 15, at 10 a.m. or Wednesday, June 13, at 10 a.m. for Kirby members. For those interested in either show, tickets can be purchased at the Kirby Center box office, by calling 570-826-1100 or going online to kirbycenter.org.
