CLEVELAND, Ohio - A thematic look at science fiction from director James Cameron (“Terminator,” “Aliens,” “Avatar”) is among the week’s top TV viewing choices.

“Visionaries: James Cameron’s Story of Science Fiction” (10 p.m. Monday, April 30, AMC): This six-part documentary looks at science fiction through different themes, from space and time travel to dark futures and intelligent machines. Cameron interviewed dozens of experts for this cable series, including Steven Spielberg, George Lucas, Ridley Scott, Guillermo del Toro, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Will Smith and a certain TV critic for The Plain Dealer.

“Elementary” (10 p.m. Monday, April 30, WOIO Channel 19): The CBS crime drama starring Jonny Lee Miller as Sherlock Holmes and Lucy Liu as Dr. Joan Watson finally returns with another eight episodes. When it premiered in 2012, it was met with generally favorable reviews but the BBC’s modern retelling, “Sherlock,” was considered better. As the two shows aged, griping about “Sherlock” grew as did praise for “Elementary.”

“Being Serena” (10 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, HBO): This documentary series puts the spotlight on tennis superstar Serena Williams at a pivotal moment in her personal and professional life.

“Anon” (Friday, May 4, Netflix): Directed by Andrew Niccol (“Gattaca”), this science-fiction thriller is set in a near-future where the government is trying to fight crime by eliminating privacy. Clive Owen stars as Sal Frieland, a tough cop who does his best to catch the criminals in his city. His worldview changes, however, when he meets a hacker known as The Girl (Amanda Seyfried). The film also features Colm Feore, Sonya Walger and Mark O’Brien.
