NDA’s ‘Mary Poppins’ Will Sweep You Off Your Feet
TYNGSBORO -- Join the students and staff at the Academy of Notre Dame for a “supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” musical experience this spring.
Over the past three months, students have been working tirelessly to present three performances of the classic “Mary Poppins.” Whether it be choreography, blocking, painting or singing, every student has dedicated countless hours in preparation for the show.
“This cast and crew have shown over and over again with their dedication and diligence that this show is going to be practically perfect in every way,” said Meghan Bosley, adviser and director for the Drama Guild. “With fantastic student-led choreography and vibrancy even at Saturday rehearsals, these young women are hard-working and more than ready to give you all a wonderful show.”
Sophomore Katherine Aste and senior Zora Harley, both of Lowell, put their dance skills to work and choreographed all of the dance numbers featured in the show. Both have notable roles: Katherine is playing the part of Jane Banks, and Zora will appear as Miss Lark and Miss Andrew.
The cast also features seniors Sarah Piela (Nashua, N.H.) as Mary Poppins and Callan DeCew (Chelmsford) as Bert.
“For the past three months, I have seen these girls learn crippling dance moves, practice difficult harmonies, and dedicate themselves to their characters,” Callan said. “It’s amazing to be a part of such an amazing cast and perform such an iconic musical.”
Performance dates are Friday, April 6, at 7 p.m., and Saturday, April 7, at 2 and 7 p.m.. General-admission tickets are available for purchase at www.ndatyngsboro.org/drama-tickets .
