National Night Out events planned in Cle Elum, Ellensburg

National Night Out events are planned in Ellensburg and Cle Elum on Tuesday.

The Cle Elum-Roslyn-South Cle Elum Police Department will be hosting its first National Night Out event.

The event will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the skate park on West Second Street in Cle Elum. Citizens can join members of the police department, the Kittitas County Sheriff’s Office and the Washington State Patrol and enjoy free hot dogs and refreshments. The Kittitas County Search and Rescue team will have equipment available to inspect on site.

The Ellensburg Police Department is having a National Night Out gathering from 6-8 p.m. at the Ellensburg Police station, 100 N. Pearl St. Ellensburg police will cook up a free barbecue dinner for families, and families can take home fingerprint/DNA kits.

National Night out is an annual community building campaign that promotes police and community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make neighborhoods safer and more caring places to live.
