Norfolk Public Schools food service staff donate to Good Neighbors
NORFOLK - Food service workers at Norfolk Public Schools collected more than 1,200 food items over the past three weeks in their first-ever holiday fundraiser for the Good Neighbors food pantry.
Lunchtime Solutions Food Service Director Scott Thompson says he wanted to do something where the staff could give back to the community.
“I was overwhelmed at their response and thankful that we were able to provide so much food for area families in need” Thompson said.
He says the fundraiser was structured as a competition with staff at Norfolk Junior High and Woodland Park Elementary collecting the highest number of items.
The Norfolk Public Schools’ nutrition services are operated by Lunchtime Solutions Inc., a K-12 food service management company based out of Dakota Dunes, S.D.
