Two Fitchburg

October 24, 2018 GMT

We are writing as a pair of Fitchburg City Councilors to voice our support for State Sen. Dean Tran in his bid for re-election to represent the Worcester Middlesex District in the Massachusetts State Senate.

In 2006, Tran was elected to the Fitchburg City Council where he served with distinction, loyalty, and pride for the constituents of our community. Tran served on the council during a period that led to advancement in economic development, infrastructure, public education, and enhanced dedication to our first responders. During this time, the constituents of Fitchburg learned that Tran was a public servant they could count on to take care of their issues, concerns, and complaints; something he has continued to do state senator.

Ultimately, after 12 years on the City Council, Tran decided to make public service his full-time career by running for State Senate. During his first seven months in the Senate, Tran was able to secure $7,513,151 in fiscal 2019 state budget and multiple specific legislative bonds for the City of Fitchburg. These monies, both short and long term, will assist the city in many necessary projects regarding economic development, recreation, transportation, and higher education.

Tran has received the bipartisan endorsement from the mayors of all three cities in our district including in Fitchburg. Since taking office in December of 2017, Sen. Tran has been transparent, hard working and honest with all of his constituents. We are proud to support his bid for re-election to continue serving as our state senator.
