NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) _ Cumberland Pharmaceuticals Inc. (CPIX) on Tuesday reported a first-quarter loss of $1.4 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.

The Nashville, Tennessee-based company said it had a loss of 9 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs and stock option expense, came to 3 cents per share.

The pharmaceutical company posted revenue of $11.2 million in the period.
