Chesapeake Energy: Q1 Earnings Snapshot
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Chesapeake Energy Corp. (CHK) on Wednesday reported a first-quarter loss of $764 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.
The Oklahoma City-based company said it had a loss of $6.32 per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to $3.09 per share.
The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $2.46 per share.
The oil and gas company posted revenue of $935 million in the period.
