Donald Horstmann, 47, formerly of Beaver Dam
Donald “Donny” F. Horstmann, 47, formerly of Beaver Dam, passed away unexpectedly Friday, Feb. 8, 2019, at his home in Fitchburg.
A man who lived life guided by his heart, he gave every piece of himself if you gave him the opportunity. A graduate of Beaver Dam Senior High in 1989, Donny found his passion as a military intelligence officer in the U.S. Army following high school. At the end of his military service he accepted a position with The Analytical Sciences Corp. where he continued to flourish and prove to the world he was more than a rocker with a mullet, he was exceptional. Guided by his love for family and Wisconsin, he moved back home in 1998 where he worked a short time as a correctional officer. Donny found his own personal bliss in music, the Green Bay Packers and family. He grew to find happiness from the simplest of things, a lesson all who knew him benefited from.
He will be missed by his mother, Karen (Ascherien) Horstmann; his sister, Heather (Joseph) Jarden; half-sister, Danyel (Clyde) Geimer; several nieces, nephews and many who called him friend.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald H. Horstmann.
A gathering to celebrate Donny’s life will be held Friday, Feb. 15, at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd., Beaver Dam, from 5-6:30 p.m. A time of remembrance will be held at 6:30 p.m.
