ROCKVILLE, Md. (AP) _ Argan Inc. (AGX) on Wednesday reported fiscal first-quarter profit of $7.5 million.

The Rockville, Maryland-based company said it had profit of 50 cents per share.

The builder of energy plants posted revenue of $100.3 million in the period.

Argan shares have climbed 6.5% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $41.19, a decrease of 16% in the last 12 months.
